Wednesday 9/19 @ 12:15p @ East Bank Mall
The Faculty Strike Support Committee is sponsoring a silent protest in solidarity with the striking AFSCME workers. We will be silent for one half hour, followed by a minute of “noise,” because we are struck speechless by the administration’s refusal to offer the workers a fair, living-wage contract and because of the continuing attacks on academic freedom and free speech that they are waging against supporters of the strike. Please join us.
Call on Bruininks to provide a fair settlement for the striking AFSCME workers!
1PM, Wednesday, 9/19 TO 1PM, Thursday 9/20
All are welcome to participate by joining the core group of Hunger
Strikers for Justice in a 24 hr solidarity hunger strike. To launch
the action, we will gather in front of Morrill Hall following the
"Struck Speechless" event.
Wednesday @ 4:30pm @ Strike Headquarters
University Baptist Church (at University and 13th, Dinkytown)
With the strike of 3,500 AFSCME workers entering the third week, we are at a crucial juncture in this struggle. Student and community support remain absolutely vital for helping to push this stubborn union-busting administration back to the negotiating table with a fair contract on offer.
Call on Bruininks to provide a fair settlement for the striking AFSCME workers!

Community / Labor Strike Support Committee meets every Saturday at 10am at Strike Headquarters - University Baptist Church, 1219 University Ave SE, Minneapolis
University AFSCME locals (3260, 3800, 3801 and 3937) need your support and solidarity. A strike could begin at the University on the first or second day of classes (Sep 4 or 5), and we are asking supporters on campus, in the community, and in the labor movement to help us win a contract that our members and our families can live with.
